The work, duties and rights of the Committee under the approved policy of the Government of Nepal will be as follows –
(a) Supervise compliance with this Act as prescribed (b) Recommend investigation and prosecution against manufacturers, distributors or health workers who violate the provisions of this Act,
(c) To consider the request related to receiving any product as subsidy and approve or reject such request as prescribed,
(d) To consider the request of health workers from the producer or distributor to participate in research, scholarship, business seminar or conference or to receive assistance for conducting such seminar or conference and to approve or reject such request as prescribed,
(e) To review the product levels submitted by the producers and distributors and approve the levels that are compatible with the provisions of this Act,
(f) Coordinating work related to the dissemination of information and educational materials related to child nutrition (g) To formulate a national policy for the protection and promotion of breastfeeding,
(h) To constitute sub-committees as necessary for the purpose of implementation, supervision and control.
